Poterie de Rachaya

Rachaya al-Foukhar earned its name — "Rachaya of the pottery" — from the clay under its feet. This workshop digs, weathers and throws that same clay into the water jars, cooking pots and serving bowls the village has always been known for, glazed simply and fired slow.

The pieces are kitchen tools, not gallery objects: the fakhkhar pot goes on the flame, the jar keeps water cool without a fridge. Each firing is released as a lot with its kiln date, and seconds are sold in the village, never shipped.
